An Autumn wedding at Wood Farm at Everdon

Madeleine & William’s Northamptonshire Wedding

Where do I even begin? Madeleine & William’s wedding was absolutely epic from start to finish! From the buzzing bridal prep at their home to the beautiful ceremony at a picture-perfect village church, followed by an amazing reception at the stunning Wood Farm at Everdon, this day truly had it all.

I feel incredibly lucky to have so many gorgeous venues right here in Northamptonshire, and when you pair that with a laid-back, fun-loving couple like Madeleine and William, it’s a dream come true.

The couple had booked me ages in advance, so it was great to finally meet them in person about a month before the wedding. We went through their timeline and got to know each other better, and I left their home feeling super excited for the big day. They were so relaxed, with a great sense of humour, and I knew that their wedding would reflect that perfectly.

I was with them from bridal prep all the way through to the first dance, and honestly, it was fun from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere at their home was electric – Madeleine and her bridesmaids were having an absolute blast getting ready. One of my favourite moments was when Madeleine’s dad saw her for the first time in her dress in their back garden. The pride on his face was priceless, and it gave the whole morning such a personal touch.

The church was literally just around the corner from their house, so I walked over with the bridal party. By the time we arrived, the guests were already seated and eagerly awaiting the bride. Madeleine looked stunning in her dress, and the bridesmaids were equally gorgeous. William couldn’t stop smiling—he was clearly ready to see his bride and say those all-important vows. The ceremony was beautiful, full of love and joy, and you could feel how happy everyone was for them.

Afterwards, we had the all-important confetti throw and some group photos, and even their dog made a special appearance for a few snaps, which was brilliant. The weather was perfect—sunny and warm, which made everything feel even more special. Once we wrapped up at the church, we headed over to Wood Farm at Everdon for the rest of the day.

By the time we arrived, the guests were already there, sipping fizz, playing lawn games, and just having a great time. We did a few more group shots and some couple portraits during the drinks reception, but Madeleine and William wanted to focus on spending time with their loved ones rather than too many formal photos, which I thought was lovely. The groups we did capture were full of laughter and fun, as everyone got into playful poses.

After the drinks reception, the couple made their grand entrance into the wedding breakfast, where Madeleine’s sister gave a toast. The speeches, though, had a little twist—after the meal, everyone headed outside for the rest of the speeches, which was a first for me! It gave the day a really unique feel, although we had to move back inside when it started raining mid-speech (classic British weather!).

The evening was a whirlwind of fun—there were games, a limbo competition, and a packed dance floor! At one point, William brought out a huge flask he’d made himself, filled with a cheeky drink, and was sharing it with the hardcore partygoers. Just after sunset, we snuck away for a few creative portraits. Wood Farm’s driveway is strung with magical fairy lights, and I couldn’t resist capturing some shots there – the perfect end to a perfect day.

Before I knew it, the night was over, and I was packing up to leave, still buzzing from such an incredible day. Madeleine and William’s wedding was filled with so many special, genuine moments, and I’m so happy I could capture them.

Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, and a massive shoutout to the team at Wood Farm at Everdon for making sure everyone was looked after so brilliantly!

“Lewis photographed our wedding in September 2024 and did the most fantastic job! Lewis is extremely approachable and personable, with us receiving plenty of compliments on his discreet style of photographing the day. We received a highlights video containing some of the photos from the day very quickly – we cannot wait to see the final album! We would highly recommend Lewis, he captured our day beautifully.” – Maddie & William
