At the start of November, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Katie and Kieran’s gorgeous autumn wedding at Wood Farm at Everdon, one of Northamptonshire’s most charming barn-style wedding venues. While I’ve photographed many weddings here over the years, each with its own unique vibe, this was the first time I captured an entire wedding day at the venue—from the ceremony through to the evening festivities.

A Special Connection with the Couple

Katie and Kieran are more than just clients—they’re friends I’ve known for years. A few years ago, I had the honour of photographing Katie’s parents’ wedding in Mexico, where we spent an unforgettable week together. So, when they asked me to be their wedding photographer for their special day at Wood Farm at Everdon, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Katie’s kind words—“There’s no one else I’d want to capture our wedding day”—were such a lovely compliment.

The Lead-Up to the Wedding at Wood Farm at Everdon

A few weeks before their big day, I met up with Katie and Kieran to chat through their plans and catch up. It was fantastic to see them again and hear about all the details they had in store. By the time we wrapped up our meeting, I was absolutely buzzing with excitement for their wedding day.

On the day itself, I arrived bright and early, as I always do, to scope out fresh spots for creative portraits. Even though I’ve photographed weddings at Wood Farm at Everdon before, I always challenge myself to create something new for each couple.

Rain or Shine: Embracing the Weather

While the weather wasn’t perfect—it rained on and off throughout the day—it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. If anything, the drizzle added an extra layer of romance, especially for the evening portraits. Sometimes, a little rain can work wonders for creating magical, atmospheric photos, and that’s exactly what happened here.

Bridal Prep at Wood Farm at Everdon

The day began with bridal prep, set against the rustic charm of Wood Farm at Everdon. The room was buzzing with excitement, music playing in the background, and everyone in high spirits. Meanwhile, Kieran made a grand entrance, arriving in a sleek Porsche and flashing the biggest grin—it was clear he couldn’t wait to marry Katie.

As the morning flew by, Katie shared a heart warming first look moment with her bridal party and parents. She looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, and their emotional reactions were priceless.

An Emotional Ceremony in the Barn

The ceremony, held in the beautiful barn at Wood Farm at Everdon, was an emotional rollercoaster. Katie walked down the aisle with her dad, looking radiant, while Kieran couldn’t hold back the tears. From heartfelt vows to moments of laughter, the ceremony was filled with everything that makes a wedding day unforgettable. Before long, they were officially pronounced husband and wife—congratulations, Katie and Kieran!

Confetti Fun Outside the Barn

After the ceremony, we headed outside for one of my favourite parts of any wedding—the confetti shot. This moment is always so full of joy and high energy, and Katie and Kieran’s confetti line didn’t disappoint. It’s one of those guaranteed opportunities to capture fun, candid moments that everyone loves.

Wedding Portraits at Wood Farm at Everdon

During the drinks reception, we made the most of the fading autumn light for group shots and couple portraits. Katie and Kieran were total naturals in front of the camera, laughing and having fun the entire time. They made my job so easy, and it was clear just how much they were enjoying every second of their day.

Evening Celebrations and Creative Portraits

The evening festivities began with heartfelt speeches that had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure. Before the night fully kicked off, we snuck outside for some creative portraits using off-camera flash. Despite the drizzle, Katie and Kieran were up for anything, and the results were nothing short of magical.

As the evening guests arrived, the party atmosphere ramped up. The newlyweds cut their cake and shared a first dance that ended with Kieran lifting Katie into his arms—a moment that had everyone cheering.

A Sparkling End to the Day

The perfect way to end a wedding at Wood Farm at Everdon? A sparkler line, of course! Sparklers never fail to get everyone involved and create a fun, celebratory vibe. Capturing those glowing smiles and lively interactions was the cherry on top of an already incredible day.
